SET UP YOUR EMAIL ON IOS

Go settings….

Mail and click on accounts.

Press «Add account» then «Other»

Add «Mail account»

Enter your name, email address, password and an account description.

Press next.

Mail will attempt to find your email settings and finish setting up your account. If Mail finds your settings, tap OK to complete the setup.

If Mail doesn’t find your email settings, you’ll need to enter them manually. Click Next and follow these steps:

On this screen you’ll be asked what type of account you’ll be setting up, choosing between POP3 or IMAP will depend on your preferences, in the example we chose IMAP:

POP3: This option will download all messages to your cell phone and delete them from your email hosting, the advantage is that it will not consume space on your hosting because everything will be stored locally on your cell phone, the disadvantage is that if you delete it by accident or lose your phone, you will lose your email messages forever.

IMAP: This option will show all your messages without downloading them, the disadvantage is that it will use space on your hosting, because your messages are in the cloud, the advantage is that if you lose your cell phone you will be able to access your email from another device, and you can configure it on several devices in a synchronized manner.

RECOMMENDATION: Use IMAP, it is the best option.

Select IMAP

Enter the information for the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server (same details for both)

Host name: mail.yourdomain.com (replace «your domain» with your own)

Username: your email

Password: your password

The username and password are listed as «Optional» for the Outgoing Mail Server. You must enter them, or you will not be able to connect to the server.

Next, if you see a window stating “Unable to verify server identity”, click Continue.

Note: You may see the window appear twice, once for incoming IMAP mail and once for outgoing SMTP mail.
